From Zeroasterisk
- is supposed to be a community project including Alan Blount and others (see userlist)
- supports a blog (weblog) section
- there is also an old Blogs / News section of this wiki - but i realized that no amount of formatting would turn the wiki into reasonable a blogging system.
- features an extensive photos section, updated/maintained by said community (though I'm thinking about trying to migrate everyone to flickr)
- the photos section is powered by Gallery (soon to be G2, hopefully)
- has a files and webmail section for select users (request?)
- note: Google Mail is much better than either
- often links to wikipedia articles
- uses cookies to remeber settings and login (not required for view)
- is a LAMP & MediaWiki & gallery project (Lamp = PHP/Apache/MySQL/Linux)
- on a Debian server, run by Jason Smithson
- can be improved (suggestions?)
Goal
The desired objective of this site is to provide a simple and accessable repository of information/communication on Alan & Anita Blount; as well as anyone else who chooses to contribute to the content of the site (like John).
Basically, I want a fast and simple means of posting and finding information/content. I would like to provide this means for my friends as well. MediaWiki allows for many users and handles the inherint, multiple-user complications quite nicly. --Alan 11:43, 7 Mar 2005 (EST)
