I havn't blogged in a while but have beencontributing content to the site regularly. you can check out my user page (by clicking on my name) and there's a link to my contributions there... or you can check out the recent changes page. I've also been contributing to wikipedia some.... mmmm... wikipedia is becoming almost an obsession.

I've recently been playing with google maps. It's exactly the beautiful interface I would expect from google. It allows you to:

  • view the maps at whatever browser window size you have
  • scroll without reloading the page (the map moves and fills in)
  • click-and-drag the map to a new position
  • view fantastic map detail in a wide variety of scales
  • use email, link-to, or print links
  • use instant and obvious markers for search locations and escelations to directions to or from a location.
  • use increadible directions, with links to direction points along the way... BRILLIANT! (example)

Mapquest is awesome, and they've been around for a while. Yahoo maps is also a strong contender and are a bit more flexible than Mapquest... but Google Maps is the crown jewel of what I've seen... They are so smart to keep their interface simple and functionality so intuitive.
